OUR 2026 THEME

As America marks 250 years, Afro Cultural Festival 2026 honors the African and Caribbean roots that shaped African American culture and the African American culture that helped build this nation.

Why This Festival Matters

Afro Cultural Festival is more than an event it is a living reflection of the African Diaspora’s impact on America.

We gather to:

  • Honor our roots:  African and Caribbean traditions that shaped African American culture.

  • Celebrate our influence: Music, food, language, art, and movement that built a nation.

  • Strengthen our economy: Creating space for Black-owned businesses to thrive.

  • Unite our community: Families, elders, youth, and future leaders in one shared experience.

  • Build forward: Turning heritage into momentum for the next generation.

Afro Cultural Festival 2026 recognizes that our story is not just history it is foundation.

ABOUT AFRO CULTURAL FESTIVAL

“Afro Cultural Festival exists because culture belongs in every community"

Afro Cultural Festival was created by Shalewa Nyanza, Founder of Five Star Women of Color, with a clear vision: to bring meaningful African, Caribbean, and African American cultural celebration to Baltimore County.

What began as a response to limited cultural access has grown into a powerful annual gathering rooted in representation, education, and belonging.

From its inception, the festival has remained free and open to the public ensuring families, elders, and future generations can experience culture without barriers.

This is more than entertainment.

It is legacy in motion.
